When Little Becomes Much

I would like to talk to you today about

letting God make your little much.

Remember the little boy with five fish

and two loaves of bread? Jesus multiplied

this to feed a crowd of five thousand. What

an exciting story he must have had to tell

friends and family when he got home that

evening. Most will never experience that

kind of thrill simply because we measure

our capabilities only by our visual resource.

Have you declared verbally your complete

trust in Christ, but then forgot that in His

hands is unlimited supply that can be

multiplied to meet our needs, and more?

Jesus tested Philip’s faith here, also. This

was Philip’s hometown. If anyone knew the

whereabouts of the source to feed a crowd

of five thousand, surely Philip would know.

But Philip looked only at visible

circumstances. “Even if there were enough

bread here, it would take two hundred

working days salary,” he reported.

Are there needs in your life today for which

there does not seem to be physical resources?

Do you feel that what little you have is

nothing worth even offering the Master?

The small boy felt that way. Philip felt that

way. Jesus does not need our resources.

He worked with a child then, and he desires

to work through his children now. We have

so little to offer, but our time, our ability,

helping others, a phone call, a visit to the

needy or sick becomes priceless within the

Kingdom of God.

Father, multiply our resources so that we

may meet the needs of others today.

Amen.

There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?  John 6:9 KJV

And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.  John 6:11 KJV

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.  Philippians 4:19-20 KJV

Who needs to hear this?
