Weighed In The Balance

The Old Testament is filled with prophecy

even if we concern ourselves with only those

predicting the Second Coming. The tiniest

details with which these prophecies have

been fulfilled cause even the Bible Scholar

to be amazed. We would have to be blinded

by Satan himself not to see the Old Testament

prophecies being fulfilled in Christ.

The Jewish Nation embrace the coming of

our Lord but do not see them fulfilled in a

Lowly Galilean. We do not have to look

back to ancient history to see what is yet

to come but fail to embrace the Biblical

Promise that “God’s people shall number

as the sands of the sea and as the stars of

the sky.” How easy it is to see God working

in the life of the Jewish Nation and to forget

that His promises are not reserved for the

Jewish people only.

In the Old Testament, God sent a warning

of Judgment to Belteshazzar, ruler of ancient

Babylon. He had defied God, walking

contrary to his teachings, and calling his

leaders to do likewise, not knowing that the

enemy already crouched within the city walls.

Their warning came directly from the hand

of God. “Thou art weighed in the balance and

found wanting.”

We are too light in our spiritual possessions

and too heavy with material goods and

unbelief to balance the scales of God. But

because God is long-suffering, His Hand is

extended in a call to revival such as this

Generation has never known.  Accept His

Hand of reconciliation.

Father, let this mind be in me which was also

in Christ Jesus.
