I would like to talk to you today about
God’s principles of giving. He said, “Give,
and it shall be given to you. A good
measure pressed down and running over
will be poured into your lap. For the
measure you use will be measured to
you.” Luke 6:38. What is done for God
will always bring an increase.
The story is told of an Indiana farmer
whose corn took the blue ribbon each
year. He made it a point to share his best
seed with his neighbors. He explained,
“The wind picks up the pollen and swirls
it from field to field. If my neighbor sows
bad seed, the crosspollination decreases
the quality of my com, therefore, I see
that they, too, have the best.”
Too many believers have not grasped
God’s basic bible principles that giving
benefits the giver as much, or more, than
the one who receives. Proverbs 11:24
promises, “There is one who scatters, yet
increases more, and there is one who
withholds what is due, but it results only
in want.” Have you given today? And I am
not talking about money.
A bible story tells about Peter and John’s
encounter with the lame man at the
temple gate. They did not have silver and
gold, but Peter met the need with an
outstretched hand and words. “Such as I
have, give I unto you. Rise up and walk.”
Generous people are seldom ill people,
nor are they hateful, nor revengeful.
Practice God’s principles of giving.
Father, open our eyes and heart to the
needs of those I meet today.
Amen.
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35 KJV
