Innocent Blood

The Lord hates hands

That shed innocent blood

Who is more innocent than a child?

Who is more helpless than an infant?

Totally dependent on mom and dad

Society makes laws of majority

A made up morality

It’s a mix of convenience and power

Selfishness, greed and human logic

What will the populace allow?

It’s a slippery slope indeed

Our laws are flawed

They should protect the weak among us

Those not able to defend themselves

The most vulnerable depend on us

Watch out you elderly, crippled and weak!

The slope is slanting for you

Society may choose to say

Your best days are past

We think it’s best

That new laws be passed

Don’t shed Innocent Blood

The Lord hates six things; in fact, seven are detestable to him: arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that plots wicked schemes, feet eager to run to evil, a lying witness who gives false testimony, and one who stirs up trouble among brothers. Proverbs 6:16-19 CSB

For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well. My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began. Psalm 139:13-16 CSB
