For all that is in the world, the lust of
the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the
pride of life is not of the Father, but is
of the world, I hear people say, ‘Yes,
pastor, I believe heaven is my home’
but live like the devil. That person will
never enjoy heaven if heavenly
pleasures and pursuits are unattractive.
If your heart cannot stand the higher
altitude of heaven now, how shall you
later? Lay up your treasures in heavenly
places, where moths and rust do not
corrode and where thieves cannot
breakthrough and steal. For they are
guarded forever by the angels, and
Christ himself has the keys. Those
who are citizens of that heavenly
country and who already have their
passport signed with Christ’s own
signature will one day inherit it all.
But what shall a man gain if he owns
the entire world and loses his own soul?
Father, renew our affections for
heavenly places that our fellowship
with you may be forever.
Amen.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. Matthew 22:37-38 KJV
