Good Friday?

Trials all night

This wasn’t right!

False witnesses persisted

Mocked and accused

Beaten and bruised

Crowned by thorns

Robed in royalty

Questioned

Rejected

Judged and condemned

Silent the Lamb

Spat upon

Lifted His cross

Crucified at nine

Beside two thieves

Lots were cast

Looked like a loss

Darkness by noon

Father forgive them

They know not what they do

He didn’t swoon

Cared for His mom

Missing His Dad

Where were His friends?

When would this end?

Laughed to scorn

Behold your king!

Wait for a thief

I’m thirsty

With vinegar to drink

Spirit free’d at three

The earth shook

The sun didn’t shine

Rocks were split

Pierced but not broken

Blood and water flowed

Surely this was

Curtain was torn

People would mourn

The dead came walking

Entombed by six

High Passover began

But how is this good?

Just wait!

It’s Good Friday!

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 1 Corinthians 15:55 KJV

While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men stood by them in dazzling clothes. So the women were terrified and bowed down to the ground. “Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” asked the men. “He is not here, but he has risen! Remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee, saying, ‘It is necessary that the Son of Man be betrayed into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, and rise on the third day’?” And they remembered his words. Luke 24:4-8 CSB

But as it is, Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also comes through a man. For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 CSB
