I would like to talk to you today about the “thirsty” being satisfied. Jesus said, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Thirsting is an instinct to a newborn baby. The Psalmist David spoke of spiritual thirst being an instinct, when he prayed, “My soul thirst for the Living God.”
I would like to talk to you today about lifting power. A reporter inquired of a champion weightlifter, “What is the secret of your many wins?” To which he replied, “I try not to think about the weights, just the lift. Once I start to think about the weights, I lose sight of the lift.”
I would like to talk to you today about joy in the Lord. There are three kinds of joy for the believer. First, there is the Joy of one’s own salvation. I have heard people say “Let so and so do it, he has been a Christian a long time” but I have found that the old Christian has lost that first love and the joy no longer overflows.
I would like to talk to you about how to have a Joyous Christmas. What questions must have filled the mind of the Virgin Mary during that angelic interview! She was to bear a child, but not an ordinary child. He was to be the son of God.
I would like to talk to you today about being satisfied. Jesus said, The Kingdom of Heaven is for the child-like, easy to please. Most have ceased to be easy to please. It takes more to keep us happy in our day, doesn’t it?
