Blood Required

The life is in the blood and

Without the shedding of blood

There is no remission of sins

We see this taught through the testaments

Skins were provided following the fall

Covenants are ordained by blood

Abel presented a pleasing sacrifice

Whereby lambs were accepted

But crops were not

The sacrificial system was established

Purified and cleansed made holy

Repeated countless times

In Old Testament life

Later we learned

That the Old Testament sacrifice

Foreshadowed Christ

Blood of goats and bulls can’t take away sin

But Jesus paid the ultimate price

Laid down his perfect life

Became the final sacrifice

Was struck once for all time

(Moses scribbled on God’s picture

by striking the rock twice)

But thankfully believers are perfected forever

By His offering

By His sacrifice
