Bath or a Wash Cloth?

Speaking on multiple levels

The Greatest among them

Became the Servant

He girded Himself

And washed their feet

Serve one another

Our example is He

But on a deeper level

We must be bathed once

And then be occasionally washed

This speaks of forgiveness of sin

Of righteousness and our acceptance of Him

We are bathed and made clean

No longer soiled by sin

When we belong to Him

Our destiny is set and we are safe in His hand

From thereon we are occasionally washed

To wipe off our daily failings

How about you?

Do you need a

Bath or a Wash Cloth?

“One who has bathed,” Jesus told him, “doesn’t need to wash anything except his feet, but he is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.” John 13:10 CSB
